The old CNAPS tracking portal closed in May 2026. All requests for professional cards, prior authorizations, or approvals now go through Dracar Ultimate, the online service that completely replaces the old interface. This change alters the way to submit, consult, and follow up on a file.
Dracar Ultimate: portal architecture and status logic

Dracar Ultimate is based on two distinct areas: the individual space (natural person) and the business space (legal entity). Each area has its own internal messaging system to communicate with the processing service. Notifications of status changes arrive by email, but the details of the reason only appear in the portal.

We observe that most misunderstandings stem from confusion between the application number (assigned at submission) and the title number (assigned after issuance). The application number is the only useful identifier during processing. It appears in the PDF summary generated at submission.
The displayed statuses follow a specific sequence:

- “Submitted” means that the file is registered but not yet taken over by a processor. No action is expected from you at this stage.
- “Under review” indicates that an agent is examining the documents. It is at this point that requests for additional information may arrive via the internal messaging system.
- “Decision made” concludes the process, whether it is an approval, a refusal, or a dismissal. The detailed reason can be consulted in the “My requests” tab.
When you want to track your CNAPS file online, it is this sequence of statuses that you need to monitor. The absence of change for several weeks does not mean a blockage, as processing times vary according to the workload of the relevant territorial service.
Supporting documents and scanning quality: the main blocking factor

Feedback from training centers and support organizations converges on one point: the blockages mainly come from unreadable or poorly scanned documents. A blurry scan, a missing front page, or an overly compressed file systematically triggers a request for additional information, which extends processing by several weeks.
Technical requirements to meet before submission
The expected format is PDF. Photos taken with a smartphone are accepted if converted, but the resolution must allow for the reading of each mention. We recommend checking readability on a third-party screen before submission.
The most frequently rejected documents are the copy of the identity card (glare, cut corners), proof of residence (illegible date), and training certificate (too faint stamp). A complete and readable file from the first submission remains the most effective lever to reduce processing times.
Responding to a request for additional information
The request for additional information arrives in the Dracar Ultimate messaging system, not by postal mail. A notification email is sent to the address associated with the account, but the corrective document must be submitted via the portal. We observe that some applicants respond by regular email, which is not taken into account by the system.
The deadline to provide additional information is limited. In the absence of a response within the allotted time, the file may be dismissed. Checking your Dracar messaging at least twice a week during the processing phase avoids this scenario.
Public consultation of CNAPS titles: verifying a professional card
CNAPS provides a title consultation space separate from the user portal. This public directory allows an employer or client to verify the validity of a professional card or authorization to practice without accessing the holder’s file.
The search is conducted by card number. The directory displays validity, expiration date, and authorized activity. It does not provide access to the holder’s full identity or the history of requests.
For private security companies, some management software now integrates automatic synchronization with CNAPS data (professional cards, authorizations, expiration alerts). This feature reduces the risk of non-compliance during an inspection.
Processing times and recourse in case of prolonged silence
Processing times vary depending on the type of title requested and the relevant territorial delegation. A prior authorization for access to training is generally processed more quickly than a request for a professional card, the latter requiring an administrative investigation.
The absence of a response beyond the regulatory deadline does not equate to acceptance. In private security matters, silence from the administration equates to an implicit refusal. This rule deviates from the general principle of the code of relations between the public and the administration.
Effectively following up via Dracar messaging
The internal messaging system of Dracar Ultimate is the official channel. Follow-ups via the “Contact Us” form on the CNAPS site are reserved for questions outside of processing (regulatory information, reports). Mixing the two channels disperses exchanges and complicates processing.
We recommend formulating the follow-up by citing the application number, submission date, and the last displayed status. A factual and precise follow-up is more likely to receive a quick response than a generic message.
The transition to Dracar Ultimate has removed several frictions from the old system but has also transferred more responsibility to the applicant. A properly prepared and monitored file in the right space remains the condition for smooth processing. Regularly checking your portal messaging and keeping a copy of the PDF summary of each submission constitutes the minimum to avoid unpleasant surprises.
